Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri declared on Saturday that his ties with Saudi Arabia will continue and move from “strength to strength.” He deemed his ties with the Kingdom as “special and historic”, accusing some sides of trying to imply that he has problems with Saudi Arabia and the Arab Gulf. He categorically refuted the allegations, saying that the accusers themselves have problems with the Gulf. Hariri stressed before a mayoral delegation that he is following up on a daily basis on Lebanon’s implementation and respect of its disassociation policy. “Should all sides fail to respect this policy, then they will have a problem with me,” said the premier. The government had earlier this month reiterated its commitment to the policy in wake of criticism Lebanon received over “Hezbollah’s” meddling in the affairs of Arab countries, most notably Yemen and Syria.
