Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz has ordered a deposit of 2 billion dollars into Yemens Central Bank, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday. A statement said that the deposits would help address the "deteriorating economic situation faced by the Yemeni people as a result of the crimes and violations committed by Iran-backed Houthi militias." It said the insurgents have looted the state treasury and taken control of the revenues of state institutions. The new transfer has brought the total amount of Saudi deposits to the Yemeni Central Bank to 3 billion dollars, SPA added. Saudi Arabia stressed that it continues to help the Yemeni government to carry out its tasks in regaining the country’s security and stability.
