Egypt and Sudan underlined on Friday the depth of the historic ties between their two countries and keenness to fortify them against instability. Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met in Cairo with his Sudanese counterpart Ibrahim Ghandour ahead of the 30th African Union summit that will be officially opened in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Sunday. Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abou Zeid said that Shoukry and Ghandour agreed on the need to maintain ties between their two countries and avoid rumors and false information that may harm them. They stressed the role of the media of their respective nations to that end.
