RIYADH: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political and Economic Affairs Adel Mirdad met Kuwait’s ambassador to the Kingdom, Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Saba, on Friday. During the meeting, the strong bilateral relations and continuous cooperation between the two countries was discussed. The meeting also discussed news that distorted the relationship between the two countries. It was highlighted that the latest sports debate between the chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, Turki Al-Sheikh, and Kuwait’s Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khalid Al-Roudhan, was merely a typical sports debate. Mirdad pointed out that the chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee is a non-political official elected by members of the committee. He also stressed his denunciation of Minister Al-Roudhan’s demeanor in Doha because it contradicts the neutral stance of the Kuwaiti government toward the crisis and damages relations between the two countries. “I am confident that our brothers and sisters in Kuwait value the relationship between the two countries just as much as we do, and are keen to avoid anything that may harm it,” he said.
