The General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars has warned of the dangers of accepting and disseminating rumors, especially if they affect the interests of religion, the nation, society’s unity, rulers, police officers, and the countrys symbols. It also pointed out that there have been reports about a large number of fake social media accounts aiming to spread rumors and sedition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially after the failure of their previous attempts to achieve despicable objectives. The council said the sedition and deception channels have incited several sectarian conflicts and have become agents for terrorist groups. Their aim is to divide countries and nations. The General Secretariat stressed that it is a blessing for the country, which is run by serious and decisive rulers, to enjoy unity and strong security. It added that the state’s security and judicial bodies, and its loyal people are capable of maintaining security and stability, in addition to consolidating prosperity and the countrys pioneering Arab and Islamic role in a way that serves Islam, Muslims and humanity in general.
