Algeria announced on Friday that police had dismantled a cell that was recruiting members for the ISIS terrorist cell, reported the German news agency. The police said that the recruits would then be sent to fight in Iraq and Syria. The agency said that the cell was active in the al-Bayd province, south of Algiers. The seven-member cell recruited youths to join ISIS through social media. The members of the cell were arrested after more than three months of security surveillance. Six members have been detained in jail, while the seventh has been put on probation. On Sunday, Algerian police had detained in the western Tlemcen region another ISIS recruiting cell.
