Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, held talks in Cairo on Monday with Sheikh al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed Tayeb. Sheikh al-Azhar welcomed Prince Mohammed to Egypt, hailing the role of Saudi Arabia in the service of the Islamic nation and defending its interests. The Crown Prince for his part praised the al-Azhar for spreading Islamic teachings and serving the Muslim nation. The two officials stressed the importance of joint coordination in tackling the challenges facing the Arab and Muslim worlds in order to preserve religious principles and spread Islamic culture.
