A high-rank officer arrived in Damascus two days ago, holding a message from Russian President Vladimir Putin to president of the Syrian regime Bashar Assad – the message determines dispersion points of the government forces in the north of Aleppo infront of the Turkish Army. General Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of Russian Armed Forces, usually delivers field messages to Assad whether through a visit to Damascus or at the Russian military base in Khmeimim. According to Asharq Al-Awsat information, the Russian military leader carried out an unannounced field visit to Damascus, in which he handed out the Syrian party dispersion maps of the government forces in the north of the country. The Turkish Army, in return, will hold 12 or 13 observation points in countrysides of Idlib, Hama and Aleppo. Asharq Al-Awsat published earlier details of a tri-meeting that took place in Aleppo in the attendance of Saban Hamo, the leader of the Kurdish Peoples Protection Units, and head of the Syrian government forces security committee, Brig. Gen. Malek Alia. Back then, Hamo showcased the agreement with Damascus on three matters: field cooperation and coordination between the Syrian Army and the Kurdish Peoples Protection Unit, the combating of Turkish attacks and cooperation in the liberation of regions controlled by the Turkish Army. The latest Russian military message to Damascus represented an introduction to advancing towards Efrin under agreements to reduce escalation. During the past days, Turkish forces and the Free Syrian Army factions increased operations, achieving a quick progress and besieging Efrin from three sides.
