Saudi Crown Prince Heads to Boston for Second Stop of US Tour

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, will kick off in Boston on Saturday the second stop of his visit to the United States. He had arrived in Washington on Tuesday, the first of his multi-state tour of the country. He started his visit by holding talks with President Donald Trump at the White House. On Friday, he met with US Vice President Mike Pence, who threw a dinner banquet in his honor. The ceremony was attended by Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the US, Minister of State, Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Cabinet Member, and a number of senior officials of the American Administration. Also on Friday, Prince Mohammed met with US Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin. They stressed the importance of the Saudi-American partnership and the role it can play in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 reform plan. The long-standing ties between Washington and Riyadh, including trade and investment and their efforts to develop better economic exchange were reviewed. The meeting also tackled the fight against corruption and terrorism. Later on Friday, Prince Mohammed held separate talks with managing director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde and President of the World Bank Jim Yong Kim. Discussions addressed Vision 2030, and its initiatives at the economic, social and development levels. Prince Mohammed concluded his meetings in Washington by holding talks on bilateral relations with a number of former American administration officials, led by Madeleine Albright, Stephen Hadley, Jim Johns, Frederick Camp and Francis Townsend.
