Russia’s Ambassador to the UN Vasily Nebenzya on Tuesday said the hypocritical stand of the US, UK and Russia was surprising and called on them to end their aggression agains Bashar Assad’s regime. Nebenzya said there was no military solution to the Syrian conflict and that countries must work together to achieve resolution 2254 and the peace process. He said it was simply unrealistic to force the Syrian president under a hail of bombs to the negotiation table and put him on trial as a war criminal. The ‘troika,’ as Nebenzya put it referring to US, UK and France, carried out strikes on regime facilities on Saturday. At the same session, Syrian regime"s UN Ambassador Bashar Jaafari said that a UN security team arrived in Douma on Tuesday. If the team finds the security situation to be satisfactory then the OPCW team will begin it"s work Wednesday, he said.
