A delegation from the Saudi-British Business Council discussed Thursday in Oxford University cooperation in the field of innovation research in vital fields and its transfer into investment opportunities on ground. This aims at strengthening the strategic partnership between Riyadh and London. “A delegation of Saudi business men and women have seen a number of vital achievements in the field of business incubators, research centers, industrial partnership and innovation centers, as well as the Center for Medical Applications, which is one of the most important specialties that Oxford has worldwide,” Chairman of the Saudi-British Business Council Eng. Nasser bin Mohammed al-Mutawa told Asharq Al-Awsat in a phone call from London. The meeting included lectures presented by a number of scientists and inventors at the university about their latest inventions, including smart city solutions and renewable energy and its practical applications. Mutawa pointed out that the British side briefed the Council on the names of the special representatives appointed by British Prime Minister Theresa May for the various sectors included in the joint communique between the two leaderships. The Council reviewed the data provided by the advisory office on the constraints faced by British companies and investors in Saudi Arabia, and it was briefed on steps taken by the various ministries to overcome these obstacles, Mutawa said. The agreements between the two countries were discussed in the fields of education, health, renewable energy and cybersecurity, according to Mutawa. It was decided to establish specialized task forces to follow up each of these journals separately. He noted that the third conference of public-private partnership will be held within the next five months.
