Saudi Arabia condemned on Tuesday Iran over its meddling in Arab internal affairs, the latest incident of which was its support of the Polisario Front in Morocco, reported the Saudi Press Agency. The Saudi cabinet therefore stressed the need to unify efforts and stances to confront the Iranian regime and its pawns’ interference in the affairs of Arab countries. The cabinet session was chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz. Morocco last week announced that it was severing ties with Tehran, accusing it of supporting the Polisario through the Lebanese “Hezbollah” group. Saudi Arabia reiterated its support for Morocco and all steps that would safeguard its stability, including cutting ties with Iran, reported SPA. King Salman then briefed the cabinet on the details of the telephone call he held with Moroccan King VI in which he voiced Riyadh’s solidarity with Rabat. The ministers then discussed the preparations and services provided by the various government and civil sectors on the advent of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, which begins next week. King Salman made orders to provide all necessary services to accommodate Umrah pilgrims and worshipers at the cities of Mekkah and Medina during the holy month. Turning to international developments, the Kingdom strongly condemned last week’s suicide bombing that targeted the electoral commission in the Libyan capital Tripoli, saying that it stands firmly against terrorism and extremism. Saudi Arabia also condemned the armed attack against the Pakistani Interior Minister over the weekend, saying Riyadh stands by Islamabad in its efforts to preserve its security and stability. The cabinet then approved the national environment strategy and announced that the Kingdom will begin observing “environment week” once a year. Overseen by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, environment week will witness a series of events organized by the public and private sectors and various environment groups. It was decreed that this event will be held during the first week of the beginning of the spring season.
