Saudi Arabia condemned on Monday Israel’s use of deadly violence to target unarmed Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, said an official source at the Foreign Ministry, reported the Saudi Press Agency. The source stressed the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards ending the violence and protecting the Palestinian people. He reiterated the Kingdoms firm stance towards the Palestinian cause and support of the Palestinian people in restoring their legitimate rights in accordance with the related international resolutions and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative. At least 50 Palestinians were killed by Israeli troops on Monday during Gaza border protests against the inauguration of the US embassy in Israel in Jerusalem. The demonstrators were also taking part in a march demanding their right to return to their homeland. The contentious move and the Israeli military’s use of forces has drawn international condemnation.
