The Saudi cabinet approved on Tuesday the anti-harassment crime law, a day after it was ratified by the Shura Council. Held in Jeddah, cabinet session was chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz. The gatherers also highlighted the aid Saudi Arabia has offered to the Palestinian people from 2000 until 2018. The aid has ranged from humanitarian, development and social relief and has exceeded 6 billion dollars. This relief is an embodiment of the Kingdom’s support for the Palestinian people, stressed the cabinet. The ministers also assessed the various relief efforts provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid And Relief Center to those in need, starting with the Yemeni people, Syrian refugees in Lebanon and Jordan, those affected by drought in Sudan and those in need in Somalia and Myanmar. The aid during the holy fasting month of Ramadan included thousands of iftar meals. “This support stems from its sense of responsibility to stand by brothers, who are suffering from humanitarian crises,” stressed the cabinet. King Salman then briefed the ministers on the details of his talks he held over the weekend with Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif al-Zayani. The cabinet also strongly condemned the suicide bombing that struck the Shaala region in western Baghdad, saying the Kingdom stands by Iraq against all forms of terrorism and extremism. The cabinet then authorized the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, or his deputy, to discuss with Iraq the drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding in the fields of electrical energy.
