Saudi King Urges Princes of Regions to Cater to Citizens’ Needs

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz was briefed on Tuesday on the most important issues discussed by the 25 princes of the Saudi regions during his meeting with them at the Salamah Palace in Jeddah in the presence of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense. King Salman called on the princes to "take care of the interests of citizens and residents, follow up on their conditions, check their needs and strive to fulfill them in order to achieve comprehensive development and serve the interest of the homeland and the citizens." The meeting was also attended by Prince Khalid bin Abdulaziz, adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and governor of Makkah, Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, governor of Jazan, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, governor of Riyadh, Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, governor of Tabuk, Prince Faisal bin Khaled bin Abdulaziz, governor of Asir, Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, governor of the eastern region, Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, governor of Najran, Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, governor of Qassim, Prince Dr. Husam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, governor of Baha, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, governor of Hayil, Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, governor of Madinah, Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, governor of the northern borders and Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, governor of Jawf. The reception was, meanwhile, attended by Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz and Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz al-Daoud. The meeting of the governors of the Saudi regions, which was held Monday evening in Jeddah under the chairmanship of the Minister of the Interior, reviewed a series of periodic progress reports, which aim at improving the performance and promoting the process of development that the Saudi leadership is keen to achieve. It also addressed the topics on the agenda, which focused on the development initiatives, the role of the regional councils and the reflection of its outputs on regional development goals, the activation of the role of the emirate in the development and economic integration to achieve the Saudi vision 2030, and the support for the technical transformation through “Riyada” program. At the end of the meeting, the princes reached a number of resolutions and recommendations, which were submitted to King Salman.
