The Saudi-led Arab coalition announced on Friday that permits will continue to be granted to ships seeking entry to Yemeni ports. It revealed to that end that a total of 17 ships have docked in Yemeni harbors, including three in Hodeidah. Three others are waiting to enter the port. It added that the Iran-backed Houthi militias were still barring the entry of the Maria ship, which is loaded with oil products, for two weeks. Meanwhile, Yemens Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Nasser Mohsen Baoum hailed the Arab coalition’s rapid intervention to provide relief to the Hodiedah province and open air, sea and land humanitarian corridors. This intervention greatly helped aid the people and improve the humanitarian conditions in the province, he added. Moreover, he praised the Gulf Cooperation Council for providing and implementing relief and humanitarian projects throughout Yemen. He made his remarks at the 24th meeting of the GCC Relief and Humanitarian Aid Coordination Office (GAFC) to Yemen that was held in Riyadh on Friday. The gatherers praised Saudi Arabia for launching the MASAM project to dismantle mines in Yemen, especially in light of the increasing number of wounded by mines planted by the Houthis in a number of Yemeni regions. They also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s topping of the list of donor countries to Yemen, according to a report by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The meeting then reviewed projects that have been implemented in Yemen and others that are planned for the future. Meanwhile, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) distributed in Hodeidah on Friday food aid to displaced people in the Al-Mahsara region. It handed out 3.7 tons of food baskets to 300 displaced persons.
