Bahrain’s Prime Minister directed his country’s security bodies to deal firmly with attempts to undermine national security and unity. Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa called for zero tolerance against violators and lawbreakers who attempt to tamper with Bahrains well-being. The Premier was speaking as he received Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and senior security officials from the Interior Ministry at Gudaibiya Palace. He was briefed on procedures for Ashura, and the Interior Minister also presented a security report on violations committed during its rituals. Prince Khalifa underlined religious freedom in the auspicious era of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the unlimited royal support to ensure the success of religious events. He stressed that exploiting religious occasions by some people to commit despicable acts will be handled by force of the law. He also paid tribute to Bahraini citizens for rejecting and denouncing such practices. "There must be no silence or ambiguity when tampering with the nation or encroaching on its supreme values," he said. Speaker of Bahrains House of Representatives Ahmed bin Ibrahim al-Mulla, for his part, expressed strong denunciation of some individuals’ behaviors during Ashura season. He condemned those who tried to take advantage of the atmosphere of freedom and openness to undermine national gains and achievements. Mulla stressed that the appalling acts carried out by a group of outlaws targeted igniting sectarianism to damage the national unity. He called for intensifying efforts to achieve the royal aspirations in the interest of the homeland and strengthening social unity and cohesion, affirming the state of law and institutions will address such poisonous ideas.
