Yemeni Vice President Ali Mohsen Saleh rejected on Saturday attempts to undermine the legitimate forces in the country, stressing that the three references are the bases for ending the crisis. The three references are the national dialogue outcomes, Gulf initiative and United Nations Security Council 2216. Speaking during a ceremony in the Maarib province on the 51st anniversary of the independence of the South, Saleh said that Yemen would not accept the Hezbollah group in Yemen, or the Wilayet al-Faqih rule. Moreover, he rejected the Iran-backed Houthi militias that do not believe in the political process or peaceful transfer of power. They only believe in their alleged divine right to rule, he said, according to the official Yemeni news agency. Saleh said that the war in Yemen was imposed on his country, adding however that the legitimacy will be victorious and the state will restore its authority throughout the country. He called on all Yemenis to stand united against the sectarian Houthi militias that have destroyed the country’s infrastructure, social fabric and identity.
