JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry announced that the "Red Wave 1" naval drills concluded on Thursday for countries that surround the Red Sea. The participants were from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, Djibouti, Yemen and observers from Somalia. The exercise involved several scenarios that increased combat capability during various naval operations. Commander of the exercise Brigadier General Ali bin Ahmed Al-Ghanmi said the drills included ships, boats, special forces and divers, along with Saudi Air Force Typhoon jets. Al-Ghanmi said the drill was aimed at bolstering naval security for the Red Sea countries.
