King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) signed Wednesday six agreements with a number of civil society organizations to boost humanitarian assistance to Yemen. Advisor-Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief, Abdullah al-Rabeeah, signed the agreements at the Center’s headquarters in Riyadh, after which he stated that the deals aim to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people. The first $299,000-worth agreement for the rehabilitation of Yemeni children, who were recruited by Houthi militias, benefits 80 children and 80 of their parents directly and 1,920 indirectly in Marib province. The second covers the water supply and sanitation project for displaced people in Hodeidah province and its directorates, which benefits 3,500 people, with a total value of $241,000. The project aims to preserve the lives of displaced persons, ensure safe and healthy waste disposal, and curb the spread of diseases and epidemics. The third deal, with a total value of $1.2 million, will provide medical assistance to 18,000 persons after the establishment of al-Jaadah Health Center at Hayran directorate. The project seeks to save lives, reduce the spread of diseases and epidemics, and provide emergency health services and care. The fourth agreement aims to establish a $2.9 million eye treatment and surgery center in Marib, providing services to 1.3 million persons annually. The center will treat eye injuries in Yemen and provide early intervention for eye diseases and disorders. Next, KSrelief signed a $325,000-worth agreement for water supply and environmental sanitation for displaced people in the districts of Haradh, Midi and Hayrann in Hajjah province, benefiting 6,240 people. The project will ensure safe and healthy waste disposal and reduce the spread of diseases and epidemics by securing clean water and allocating an area for collection and safe disposal of wastes. The last deal concerns the treatment of injured Yemenis inside Saudi Arabia, benefiting 100 persons, and will provide full medical care including treatment, medicines, operations, and other medical services.
