Security sources in Libyas Derna said the military operation which the National Army, led by Khalifa Haftar, launched a year ago, is over now. One soldier was killed during a confrontation with terrorists, the sources added. The military operation is over in Derna and all thats left is to comb and search for individuals hiding in destroyed buildings. A security source said that the body of terrorist Mahdi Dungo was found in the rubble of a destroyed house in Derna. Also, fundamentalist Abdel Qader Azuz was arrested, Misrata counter-terrorism said. Azuz was suspected to be one of the top leaders in al-Qaeda in Derna. He was known as Kamel and is one of the most dangerous terrorists. Azuz is known for his fatwas which permit killing security and justice men. At the beginning of April, he admitted killing judges in Derna, with the help of other people, because they did not rule according to God’ law. In May, Azuz fled to Misrata and rumors circulated about him getting injured in a landmine but it was later revealed that this was false news.
