Children of well-educated mothers may live longer, a new study by the German Institute for Economic Research suggests. It has long been known that childrens health is linked to their parents education level, along with the economic conditions. In their study, which analyzed data of 6,000 people, researchers at the German Institute for Economic Research emphasized this link. According to their findings, children of mothers who held at least a high school certificate in the 1940s, lived two years longer than the children whose mothers had an elementary school certificate, the German News Agency (dpa) reported. However, scientists in a different study did not manage to prove any positive impact for a mothers high education on childrens mental health. In fact, it proved that so far, mothers education has no significant impact on the mental health of their children who are adults today.
