RIYADH — The Ministry of Justice had allowed the electronic documentation of the custody of children by mother through the ministry’s Najiz portal with a condition that there is no dispute with her ex-husband on this matter. Well-informed sources told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that it would take a few minutes to complete the process of documentation for which there are six easier steps. Speaking to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, lawyer Somayya Al-Hindi said that the electronic documentation service is available to mothers who wish to document the custody of their children by filling up the designated form and completing the rest of the procedures and got attested the request. After its approval, an official custody document will be issued, for which there is a condition that there won’t be any dispute between the mother and her ex-husband about the custody of children. Al-Hindi said that the service is available free of charge via a separate icon on the Najiz portal, and the six steps begin with entering the official portal, then choosing electronic services, then social cases, followed by choosing social condition requests and then presenting the new request. After that, select the required service and fill up the documentation form and send it. The procedures will be complete with receiving notification about the document’s issuance. Meanwhile, sources confirmed to Okaz/Saudi Gazette that the judicial communication service provided by the ministry to the beneficiaries contributed to making available immediate services to those contacting as it is a new interactive service launched by the ministry to communicate directly with the beneficiaries, as part of the ministry’s path towards strengthening communication services with the beneficiaries. The service enables the beneficiaries to communicate directly and effectively with representatives of the agencies and sectors of the ministry to receive inquiries and complaints about all judicial services provided by the ministry through its various facilities. The judicial communication team includes a number of specialists from various sectors of the ministry, including implementation, judicial affairs, documentation, law, information technology, media and communication, and other specializations.
