Saudi Arabia underlined on Tuesday the Arab coalition’s right to take the necessary measures to confront the hostile and terrorist acts and violations committed by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in Yemen. The Houthis’ ongoing terrorist practices, such as the firing of ballistic missiles and launching of drones, are war crimes and a real threat to regional and international security, said the Saudi cabinet during a meeting Jeddah that was chaired by Custodian of the Two Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz. King Salman briefed the gatherers on the talks he held with visiting US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday. The cabinet then reviewed a number of regional and international developments and welcomed the statement by the quartet of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Britain and the US that expressed concern over the growing tensions in the region and Iran’s destabilizing behavior. The cabinet also offered its condolences to the family of the Syrian resident, who was killed during a Houthi terrorist missile attack against Abha Airport on Sunday. The attack left 21 civilians wounded and drew wide Arab condemnation. It also hailed Saudi Arabia for becoming the first Arab country to gain full membership of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). It said the achievement was the culmination of the Kingdom’s efforts in combating money laundering and terrorism financing.
