The Saudi-led Arab coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen thwarted on Monday an attack by the Iran-backed Houthi militias against a commercial ship in the southern Red Sea. Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said that naval units in the alliance foiled the Houthi assault on Monday morning. The Houthis had used an explosives-laden remote-controlled blue fish type vessel in the failed attack, he revealed. The coalition has intercepted and destroyed the boat, he added. Threats to marine navigation and trade is a “dangerous terrorist act,” Maliki stressed, asserting that the coalition is committed to “neutralizing the hostile capabilities of these militias.”
