RIYADH: Coalition forces shot down three drones targeting southern Saudi Arabia on Tuesday which were headed for southern Saudi Arabia and the cities of Jazan and Abha, according to reports. The drones were intercepted in Yemeni airspace, with the third launched from Amran in Yemen. "The Houthi militias continue targeting civilians and civilian airports in Abha, Jizan and Najran and continue to threaten regional and international security," the coalition spokesman, Col. Turki Al-Maliki, said in a statement. The Houthis have stepped up their attacks against Saudi Arabia using crude exploding drones. The militia has also fired dozens of missiles at the Kingdom since they conflict started after they seized the capital Sanaa in 2014. A Syrian resident of Saudi Arabia died last month from wounds sustained in a drone attack on Abha Airport that was claimed by the Houthis. *With Reuters
