JEDDAH/CAIRO — The Saudi-led Coalition forces to support the legitimate Yemeni government said Sunday evening that it had intercepted a ballistic missile and two explosive drones launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia towards civilian targets in southern cities. In a statement aired by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Coalition vowed that it would take all necessary actions to foil Houthi attacks and destroy their military capabilities in line with the international law. "The Houthi militia is committing serious violations of international humanitarian law," the Coalition said in a statement. Since the beginning of this year, Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militia have launched dozens of explosive drone and ballistic missile attacks targeting civilian areas and vital energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, the Arab Parliament denounced terrorist Houthi militias’ launching of bomb-laden UAVs and ballistic missiles in an attempt to target civilians and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia, where the Saudi air defenses managed to intercept and destroy these UAVs and missiles. In a statement issued Monday, the Arab Parliament warned against the continuous terrorist acts of the Houthi militia that reflect persistence to go on with their sinful assaults on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which are considered war crimes, denouncing the Houthis’ rejection to calls to end the war in Yemen and reaching a peaceful solution that ends the suffering of the Yemeni people. In this regard, the Arab Parliament called on the international community to adopt an instant and decisive movement against the Iran-backed Houthis’ terrorist acts, crimes and violations against humanity, as well as holding perpetrators accountable for these crimes. The Arab Parliament also voiced full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in facing these terrorist attacks and whatever threatens its security and stability, as well as supporting it in whatever procedures it takes to maintain the security and safety of its citizens and residents, reiterating that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the Arab national security system. Meanwhile, the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States (GCC) Secretary General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf condemned Monday the terrorist Houthi militia"s launching of bomb-laden UAVs and ballistic missiles towards the south of Saudi Arabia targeting civilians and civilian objects. The Secretary General stressed that the continuation of these terrorist attacks by the Houthi militia reflects its flagrant defiance of the international community and its disregard for all international laws and norms. He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take a decisive stance towards the Houthi militia to stop these repeated terrorist acts targeting vital and civilian installations. Dr. Al-Hajraf praised the vigilance and efficiency of the Saudi-led Coalition forces and the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces for successfully confronting all terrorist attacks carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia, stressing the GCC"s solidarity, stand and support for Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to defend its territories and preserve its security and the safety of its citizens and residents. Earlier, the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen strongly condemned the hostile attempts committed by the Houthi militia to unsuccessfully launch two ballistic missiles and booby-trapped UAVs deliberately targeting civilians and civilian objects in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Othaimeen affirmed OIC"s condemnation of terrorist practices committed by the Houthi militia and those who supply them with money and weapons, considered an act of war crimes, and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. Al-Othaimeen, reiterated OIC"s stance and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures it takes to protect its security and stability and the safety of citizens and residents. — SPA
