Saudi Arabia urged on Tuesday the international community to take the necessary measures to deter Iran’s violations against maritime navigation. “Any disruption of the freedom of international maritime traffic is considered a violation of international law and the international community must do what is necessary to reject it and deter it,” the Saudi cabinet said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired the meeting that was held in Neom. Riyadh also condemned Israeli authorities for demolishing dozens of houses in East Jerusalem, calling on the international community to intervene to stop the aggression and dangerous escalation that targets Palestinians and forces their displacement from the holy city. It accused Israel of attempting to alter the demographics and legal status of the city in violation of international laws and relevant treaties. The ministers also discussed the Kingdom’s preparations to hold the Hajj pilgrimage. They hailed King Salman for ordering the hosting of tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over the world as part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Guests Program for Hajj and Umrah.
