Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and member of the Cabinet Adel Al-Jubeir said an agreement signed in Khartoum on Saturday for a transition to a civilian-led government in Sudan will contribute to building a strong state and meet the aspirations of the Sudanese people. On his Twitter account, he said: "The Kingdom has been and is still in support of everything that guarantees Sudans security and stability and its active contribution to conclude the partnership agreement signed between the Sudanese parties.” Jubeir pointed that the Kingdom looks forward for the Sudanese people to consolidating the agreement concluded between the Transitional Military Council and the Forces of the Declaration of Freedom and Change, in a way that would spare Sudan foreign interventions targeting its stability. He stressed in a series of tweets that Sudan’s stability is important for the region and contributes to international peace and security. Jubeir headed on Saturday the Kingdoms delegation to the agreement’s signing ceremony. An official source at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Kingdom hopes the Khartoum deal would contribute to a new phase of stability through which Sudan can recover from its current crisis, allowing the different sides to manage their affairs in a way that meets the aspirations of the people.
