Prince Harry has launched a global initiative to encourage more environmentally friendly travel after a summer of headlines criticizing him for using private jets. According to Sky News, the Duke of Sussex has traveled to Amsterdam on a commercial flight to launch the Travalyst partnership, which is backed by some of the biggest names in the travel industry. It has been created to promote sustainable travel solutions by supporting local communities, protecting wildlife, tackling climate change and alleviating over-tourism. Organizations including Booking.com, Ctrip, Skyscanner, TripAdvisor and Visa have all signed up to be part of the initiative, which is being billed as the first of its kind. This summer, Harry and Meghan have been heavily criticized for using private jets to travel on their family holidays, despite their campaigning about environmental issues such as climate change. It was reported that they had used private planes rather than taking commercial flights to Ibiza to celebrate Meghans birthday. Singer Elton John also said he had paid for the couple to take a private jet as they stayed at his £15 million pound home in Nice.
