RIYADH: The Ministry of Justice announced that the digital environment has enhanced the performance and the issuing of judgments at labor courts and departments, saving the beneficiaries’ time and effort in achieving justice. “Labor courts and departments issued a total of 2,526 verdicts between Aug. 3 and Sept. 2 with a daily average of 210 verdicts. 56 percent of the verdicts were linked to wage disputes, while others looked into compensation, remuneration and work certificates cases, among others,” the ministry said, noting that “the labor courts and departments of Riyadh, Makkah and the Eastern Region issued 76 percent of the total number of verdicts.” Justice Minister Dr. Walid bin Mohammed Al-Samaani, stressed the ministry’s keenness to “have a fully digital environment for labor courts so it can constitute a model for other districts.” The ministry said that labor court rules set a certain time limit for accepting claims, including those related to the labor law or domestic labor and complaints against the General Organization for Social Insurance regarding memberships, registration and compensation. These cases are subject to a limited period of 21 days for amicable settlements before their submission to labor courts electronically through twhe Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
