The secretary-general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen on Tuesday met Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.  They discussed issues of mutual interest particularly cooperation in the fight against extremism and terrorism.  They also discussed political developments in the Middle East particularly in Palestine and Yemen. The OIC chief also met UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Angel Moratinos. They reviewed ways to enhance the partnership between the two organizations for the implementation of different projects especially in the field of women and youth empowerment and to confront extremism and Islamophobia.  They also agreed to review a memorandum of understanding to ensure effective implementation.
