A new agreement has been signed to nationalize thousands of jobs in the industrial sector. The Ministry of Labor and Social Development, represented by its deputy minister, Abdullah Abu Thunain, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, the Saudi Human Resources Development Fund, and the Council of the Saudi Chambers. The MoU establishes a partnership aiming to raise Saudization rates and promoting the private industrial sector by nationalizing over 35,982 jobs in the industrial sector by 2021, after activating programs and incentives supporting employment and training. Khalid Aba Al-Khail, spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Labor and Social Development, said the MoU was signed in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020. The ministry is seeking to nationalize jobs in the industrial sector by combining efforts to ensure the success of objectives to be achieved in partnership with the sector’s supervisory body.
