GAMI"s goal is to localize 50 percent of Saudi spending on military equipment and services Among the agreement’s aims is to expand the scope of work on developing joint projects between GAMI and Raytheon Saudi Arabia RIYADH: The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) on Saturday announced the signing of a deal with Raytheon Saudi Arabia to localize a Patriot deep maintenance and refurbishment system contract for the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces. Among the agreement’s aims is to expand the scope of work on developing joint projects between GAMI and Raytheon Saudi Arabia. GAMI Gov. Ahmed Al-Ohali said the authority aims to invest in and develop existing local capacities, and to build new capabilities. Its goal is to localize 50 percent of Saudi spending on military equipment and services. GAMI is working on providing a network of services and technical support for military industries, stimulating direct investment and strategic partnerships with international companies, facilitating the transfer of technology and knowledge, promoting research and development, and developing qualified national talent.
