Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stressed Thursday that the Kingdom has no relations with Israel and no plans to hold meetings with its officials. "Saudi Arabias policy has been very clear since the beginning of this conflict. There are no relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel, and the Kingdom stands firmly behind Palestine,” he told Al Arabiya English website. "There is no meeting planned between Saudi Arabia and Israel," he said. Last month, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz telephoned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to underscore Saudi Arabia’s firm position on the Palestinian cause. This stance has been unchanged since the reign of the Kingdom’s founder, King Abdulaziz, he stressed. Riyadh stands by the Palestinian people and supports their choices, he added. Prince Faisal, who is currently on an official visit to Washington, met with Assistant US Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Gulf Affairs Timothy Lenderking, the Saudi Press Agency reported Thursday. During the meeting, they reviewed historic and strategic relations between the two friendly countries, in addition to discussing regional and world developments, and international issues of common concern, SPA said.
