Police have arrested 12 suspected members of a far-Right terrorist cell that wanted to “start a civil war” across Germany. The cell is believed to have planned attacks on politicians, refugees and Muslims. According to a statement released by the German Attorney General, “the aim of the association was to shake and ultimately overcome the state and social order of the Federal Republic of Germany.” The cell formed in September of 2019 and met several times to plan attacks and procure weapons. Police found evidence of concrete plans, including attacking mosques in smaller German cities.
