The British military has been urged to “think the ridiculous” and create cutting edge weapons, including what one minister described as “plankton-powered rubber duck bombs”. In a radical vision of the future of warfare, James Heappey, the armed forces minister, told senior military personnel that Britain should focus on automation and new technology - saying they should be more like Netflix and less like Blockbuster.
