JEDDAH — A series of ENT courses was recently held in Jeddah to enhance the skills of ENT surgeons in performing procedures in the treatment of various ENT anomalies and pathologies. Organized by Saudi German Hospital Academy, the courses conducted included sleep and snoring surgery, sialoendoscopy hands-on workshop, temporal bone dissection course and workshop for cochlear implant and implantable hearing devices, and basic and advanced endoscopic sinus surgery. The courses were conducted comprehensively through didactic and practical sessions. Surgical skills were taught during the workshop sessions working on fresh frozen human specimens. Eminent experts in the field of ENT medicine from various ENT societies in the Kingdom and abroad were the speakers, instructors, and facilitators during these workshops, including Dr. Abdelmonem AlShaikh, Prof. Reda Kamel, Dr. Tarek AlShaikh, Dr. Rajab AlZahrani and other highly esteemed professors in ENT. ENT residents, specialists and consultants from various hospitals and institutions in the Kingdom and GCC countries attended and gained skills through extensive one-on-one sessions and hands-on training with the experts. The courses were held at Batterjee Medical College Anatomy Laboratory. Utilizing modern technologies and equipment as well as advanced teaching methodologies, the SGH Academy targets professionals in Saudi Arabia who are looking to gain a competitive edge in their respective domains through skills improvement.
