DUBAI: We have catching up with our favorite stars who answer a quick-fire round of questions about their time in self-isolation as people across the world stay at home in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus. Carol Hannoun, who is based in Dubai, is spending her social distancing time away from her family and children. How has self-isolation been for you so far? Like everyone else there’s been some highs and lows, but I try to stay positive every day. I’m usually someone that enjoys staying at home and having my me-time so that’s been nice. What’s the biggest challenge? The biggest challenge has been being away from my kids in Beirut and my family in London. What is something positive that has happened due to self-isolation in your life? I have learnt to slow down, take the time to do all the things I didn’t have time for before like organizing my closets and finish furnishing the apartment. What are you currently watching in self-isolation? I finished “Locked Up.” I’m currently finishing “Prison Break”, which is amazing, and I will move on to season four of “Money Heist” What are you eating? Have you tried cooking anything new? I’m taking advantage of the time at home to get back into cooking the food I love and learning new recipes. I’m not good at making deserts though so I think I’ll give that one a try. How are you keeping sane as you stay home? It’s difficult as the whole world has suddenly been forced to stop and life as we know it isn’t the same. However I’m keeping myself occupied with little things around the house to stay sane, and I’ve got to say, TikTok has been so much fun too! How are you keeping fit? I am trying to. On some days I do yoga or stretching classes on YouTube, and on other days I tune into my personal trainers live Tabata class. How are you staying “social”? I’m using Zoom to stay connected with my kids and my family. It’s amazing as we’re all so far apart yet seeing them all on one screen makes it all a bit easier. Do you have any tips for bored readers on how to keep entertained or fulfilled at home? Use this time to organize your closet and cabinets around the house. Declutter everything you don’t need. Catch up on reading the books you never got round to finishing and obviously catch up on your series. Also use this time to learn a new skill, recipe or language! In self-isolation, are you relaxed or do you feel the need to be extra productive? I’m both! Some days I just want to relax and do nothing but on other days I want to be productive around the house or try out something new even if it’s a new make up look. Are you living in your pyjamas, or taking the time to get dressed up? In the beginning I was living in my PJs but I’ve discovered that getting dressed and putting on a little make up really changes your whole mood for the day.
