RIYADH — The Council of Economic and Development Affairs held a virtual meeting on Wednesday. During the meeting, the Council reviewed a number of economic and developmental issues, including a quarterly economic presentation submitted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning which gave an account on the key developments at the domestic and international level as well as future expectations based on the available information. The report gave an analysis on the economy"s structure, the performance of various economic activities, the repercussions of coronavirus epidemic on different sectors as well as on the financial and economic situations in the Kingdom in addition to growth expectations in the short and medium terms for most prominent indices of the macroeconomics. The meeting also discussed a presentation submitted by the National Center for Performance Measurement of Public Entities, which included a report on the quarter results of the measurement of the public agencies of the government together with an analysis of the data and indexes of the performance of the public agencies in addition to a general review of the government performance. The Council took the necessary recommendations. The Council was briefed on a presentation submitted by the Ministry of Culture on King Salman International Complex for Arabic Language as part of the initiatives of the national identity enhancement program, an executive arm of the Kingdom vision 2030. The initiative aims at highlighting the Arabic language"s profile, activating its regional and international role and enhancing its value, expressing its capacity as the linguistic depth of the Arab and Islamic culture. The presentation also included the complex"s plan to serve as a reference for those interested in linguistic arts in the Kingdom in a way that creates an effective and innovative activity that would positively be reflected on the Arabic language, arts and works research. — SPA
