Jeddah, September 10, 2019, SPA -- The Council for Economic Affairs and Development held a meeting Tuesday evening at the Peace Palace in Jeddah. During the meeting, the council reviewed the presentation by the Ministry of Economy and Planning on the most prominent economic developments in the global economy, which was presented in partnership with the Chief Economist at Standard Chartered. The presentation included forecasts of GDP growth for 2019 and 2020 within the G20 countries, the most prominent risks facing the global economy, the pace of monetary policies, global trade trends, energy markets, the expected demographic effects, the productive investment range, in addition to interest rate expectations. The meeting also reviewed the presentation of the Ministry of Finance's report on the performance of the state budget at the end of the second quarter of the current fiscal year. It provided a breakdown of actual expenditure levels at the item level and a comparison between them and the approved budget and a look at non-oil revenues and their growth compared to similar periods in previous years.
