Who's Who: Dr. Saleh Al-Tayar, head of the Centre for French-Arab Studies in Paris

The candidature of Dr. Saleh Al-Tayar as secretary-general of the Arab-French Chamber of Commerce has been renewed. A decision was issued by the chamber’s council on Wednesday to renew his nomination with an overwhelming majority of 91 percent of members. Al-Tayar is head of the Centre for French-Arab Studies in Paris, and has a distinguished biography in developmental, economic and legal affairs. He is a legal adviser and lawyer in Saudi Arabia, Europe and the US. He is also a member of the Supreme Council of the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz International Prize for Water, vice president of the chamber’s Centre for Arab Conciliation and Arbitration, and president of the International Justice Organization in Paris. Al-Tayar attained his bachelor’s degree in law from Cairo University, two masters’ in international private law from the University of Rennes, France, and his Ph.D. in international private law. He has conducted studies on international terrorism, the dangers of nuclear energy to the Arab environment, and the double-taxation agreement between Saudi Arabia and France, among others.
