RIYADH/JEDDAH — The Saudi Red Crescent Commission established optical sorting and preliminary checkup spots, at about 33 mosques, inside and outside Riyadh city, to sort out worshipers, who attended Jumaah prayers. As many as 100 volunteers participated in this task as they were deployed at various mosques along with the commission"s staff. The attendants of the commission sorted the worshipers out before entering the mosques, checked their temperatures, reassured the people had the cloth mask on and were using the sanitizers. The effort was within an initiative to underscore the social role of the commission. Meanwhile, mosques across Jeddah Governorate resumed holding Jumaah congregational prayers, amidst strict applicable precautionary measures, to combat the spread of novel coronavirus. The faithful abided by the health protocols put in place to preserve the health as well as the safety of the worshipers and were supervised by the branch of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, in the governorate. The worshipers had put on the cloth masks, bringing, each, a private mat, were without under-aged children, completing their ablution at their homes, and were committed not to rush at mosques gates, on entering or during exiting, in addition to keeping the requested 2-meter social distancing between the worshipers. — SPA
