As part of its gradual return to normal life activity and the post-Covid-19 phase, Dubai announced the launch of the fifth edition of the 3D artwork exhibition "Dubai Canvas" set for July 31. The event aims at spreading creativity and encouraging the audience on partaking in creative activities. According to media reports released on July 28, this years edition will shed lights on new art forms under the theme "Travelling through Art" with the participation of prominent contemporary artists from the UAE and abroad. The theme aims at encouraging visitors to support the relative recovery of the tourist activity inside and outside Dubai, and the resumption of normal life in the economic and entertainment sectors in line with the reopening of the public facilities, markets, malls, beaches, cinema theaters, and air flights while maintaining the precautionary measures and safety standards applied in Dubai to face the viurs. Shaima Al Suwaidi, manager of creative projects in Brand Dubai, the company behind the event, said: "This edition will maintain the good impression that Dubai Canvas left on the audience over the past five years, during which it managed to introduce new artistic styles that were unfamiliar in the region." The festival will run for an entire month, from July 31 till August 31, she said. Al-Suwaidi invited art lovers from all ages to visit the festival held at City Walk in the heart of Dubai as of July 31, and enjoy watching artists showcasing their creativity all over the day. She also recommended visitors to abide by the precautionary measures applied in public places to curb the spread of the coronavirus, and most importantly maintaining social distancing, and wearing masks in order to protect themselves and other visitors. Reports on the event said Dubai Canvas prioritizes the local participation to promote Emirati creative artists, especially the younger generation, in addition to providing them with a new space to display their works, and building more channels to enhance their contacts with international expertise. This years edition of Dubai Canvas highlights a diverse collection of new artistic styles under the theme "Travelling through Art" aimed at providing an alternative for those who had to cancel their travel plans this summer due to the the virus crisis. Dubai Canvas offers its visitors the chance to see contemporary and 3D artworks- the festivals main focus since its debut in 2015. This edition will see the participation of Spanish 3D artist Juandrés Vera.
