Inspectors monitor health violations in KSA’s Eastern Province

DAMMAM: Eastern Province municipality is working around the clock to check on commercial facilities to ensure cleanliness, the provision of disinfectants and commitment to health measures. About 1,400 inspection tours were carried out in two days to ensure that health measures were being met in markets, commercial centers and business hubs. The inspection tours found eight violations for noncompliance with health measures in markets and commercial centers. There were nine violations for overcrowding in supermarkets, while one violation for overcrowding in a labor accommodation was also reported. Authorities have also stepped up an environmental campaign encouraging the sanitization of public sites, markets and streets to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The municipality carried out sanitization and disinfection activities in 1,520 sites, using 475 workers and 29,376 liters of disinfectants. About 15,000 tons of waste and 8,017 cubic meters of rubble were also removed by more than 9,000 workers in the area. The municipality called on citizens and residents to report health violations.
