RIYADH: Weather warnings have been issued for several parts of Saudi Arabia starting from Tuesday until Thursday, the Kingdom’s civil defense said on Monday. Data from the General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection forecasted an increased chance of thunderstorms. The Saudi regions most likely to be affected were the capital Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, Hail, Qassim, the Eastern Province, and the Northern Borders Region. All were expected to experience light to medium rain and brisk winds, and heavy downpours, possibly leading to flooding, were predicted in some parts of the country. The civil defense called on citizens to stay away from areas prone to flash flooding or high-water levels.
