AlUla summit marks a new beginning for GCC: Al-Hajraf

ALULA — Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf has congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the leaders of the GCC countries on the successful completion of the historic summit in AlUla. Dr. Al-Hajraf emphasized that the summit decisions marked a new beginning for the council, stressing the unity of ranks, reconciliation, cooperation, and integration among the GCC states to face challenges and build the future. He stressed that the cohesion and strength of the GCC is a pillar that the people of the Gulf and the Arab nations rely on to defend their causes and preserve their interests, and that the AlUla Declaration reflects the integration of the GCC states and Egypt in enhancing Arab national security and supporting its solidarity. The GCC chief expressed his full belief in the importance of economic integration and completing its requirements, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges it imposed. These challenges require collective action to seize opportunities, promote recovery, stimulate economic growth, and accelerate economic and development integration programs. Al-Hajraf highly valued the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for harnessing all sincere efforts and praised Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman for chairing the summit amid an atmosphere of fraternity and positivity.
