KSA reports lowest single-day virus-related deaths for first time in many months

RIYADH — New coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia crossed the 250-mark once again with 267 infections reported on Friday. According to the Ministry of Health, only two patients died over the past 24 hours due to complications caused by COVID-19, marking the lowest single-day virus-related fatalities for the first time in more than 10 months following the outbreak of the pandemic in the Kingdom. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 367,543 and virus-related fatalities to 6,368. The ministry also reported 253 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 359,006, with the recovery rate climbing to 97.67. The Riyadh region reported the highest number of infections with 89 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 70 and the Makkah region with 49 cases. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom. With the slight increase in new COVID-19 cases over the past few days, the active cases in Saudi Arabia also rose to 2,169, out of which 355 were critical.
