RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health recorded on Tuesday 310 new coronavirus cases, crossing the 300-mark for the first time in more than two months. On Nov. 27, 2020, the ministry recorded 302 COVID-19 infections. The single-day cases have recently risen in the Kingdom after falling to as low as 82 recorded on Jan. 3, 2021. The virus-related deaths, however, remained low despite a slight increase in the new cases with just 4 reported over the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 368,639 and fatalities to 6,383 respectively. The ministry also reported 271 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 360,110. The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of infections with 131 cases, surpassing the 100-mark for the first time in over two moths. The Eastern region reported 61 and the Makkah region saw 38 new infections. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom. With the increase in the number of new cases, the active cases in Saudi Arabia rose to 2,146 out of which 375 were critical.
