JEDDAH — Discovery Channel takes a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most important discoveries of modern history as expert teams uncover clues that reposition the global understanding and significance of ancient Arabia in a new one-off documentary “The Architects of Ancient Arabia”. Unearthing the previously unknown aspects of the ancient history of Saudi Arabia, experts uncover traces of society from more than 7,000 years ago in an exclusive documentary available to viewers in the Middle East on Wednesday (March 31) on Discovery Channel and on discovery+ via STARZPLAY. In the documentary, archeologists unearth evidence for an ancient ritual, completely unexpected and extraordinary as they continue to piece together AlUla’s rich history in time to welcome guests from around the world, as specialist teams seek to decipher the activities associated with ancient stone structures, with their findings aiding to deepen the historical legacy of the country, and of ancient Arabia. Narrated by Jeremy Irons, winner of several prestigious global awards, “The Architects of Arabia” reveals startling new discoveries which reset the timeline for the emergence of complex societies. The thousands of mysterious stone constructions built atop of otherwise barren desert may well hold the missing link to AlUla’s part in a major turning point in the history of mankind. “The Architects of Ancient Arabia” will air on Discovery Channel in the region, on 31 March at 10:40 p.m. local time on OSN (channel 500) and beIN (channel 201). It will also be available on discovery+ which can be accessed via STARZPLAY within the dedicated discovery+ dedicated branded content library. — SG
